Your Weekly journey through the world of Thai Football
Welcome to this weeks dose of Thai football once again scoured the Thai newspapers, Facebook feeds, and dodged the haters of X (formerly Twitter) to bring you all the essential Thai football nonsense, served up in our special way.
Let's Kick Off!
Beyond Your Dream
Chinese electric vehicle giant BYD is reportedly set to take over as the new title sponsor for the Thai League, replacing Toyota's Revo. This move comes as BYD continues to make significant inroads into the local automotive market, with several models now being produced in Thailand.
The intensified competition for the league's sponsorship can only be viewed as a positive development, potentially leading to increased investment and exposure for Thai football. However, the financial details behind this new sponsorship deal are yet to be revealed, and it remains to be seen what impact BYD's backing will have on the league's future.

Port’s Indonesian Adventure
Yesterday, Sunday 13th July, Port FC secured an impressive 2-1 victory over English Championship side Oxford United in the Indonesian Presidents Cup 2025. The match, played in heavy rain, was part of a friendly tournament, but it marked new Port FC Head Coach Alexandre Gama's first piece of silverware with the club. Port fell behind to an early Oxford United goal but levelled before the break through Teerasak, taking the lead shortly after half-time thanks to new signing Bryan Perea. The win was even more remarkable as Port played much of the second half with only 10 men. Port defeated Dewa United and Persib on their way to the final, and will claim 11 million baht in prize money for their triumph.
